Leo Makrimichalos

Leo Makrimichalos has been in private practice for nearly thirty years. He specializes in a wide variety of project types such as long term care facilities and education facilities, as well as commercial and large scale housing complexes. His projects have garnered awards and have been published in various trade journals.

Leo has been an active participant in numerous OAA committees and task forces over the past twenty years. He was a member of Council from 1995 to 1997 and vice-president of Internal Affairs in 1997. He has chaired Practice Committee and was a founding member of the Fees Committee that initiated the Mastering the Business of Architecture Manual. Leo became involved with the OAA member's professional liability program as a member of the Indemnity Plan Committee in 1996. He was the first non-OAA Council member of Indemnity Plan Advisory Association and has been vice-chair of Pro-Demnity Insurance Company since its inception in 2003. He has also represented the OAA on the Board of the Design Exchange. From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Board of Governors of Montcrest School, a private school in Toronto.
